CU Heritage Center: Museum Etiquette

Please help the museum staff protect the exhibits on display in the galleries by following the rules listed below. We appreciate your help in keeping these exhibits safe so that they may be enjoyed by many visitors to come!

Do not touch the exhibits.

Your touch may not seem like much, but even the slightest contact can damage the surface of a painting, discolor stone and even rust metal.

Keep a safe distance between you and each exhibit.

This helps to avoid accidental touching or bumping.

No leaning on walls or cases (either to write, set down things or for physical support).

This helps keep artifacts hung on the walls or displayed in cases safe. Seating is available in various areas throughout the museum.

Running, pushing and roughhousing are not allowed in the museum.

Appropriate museum behavior is necessary to avoid accidentally bumping into and damaging exhibits.

Keep your voice at a conversational level.

Loud voices carry throughout this building to the offices below.

Photography is allowed.

Thank you for observing these rules to help keep our displays safe!
